COMMUNICATION TO HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS

Concerning the medicinal product Ropivacaine Altan 7.5 mg/ml solution for injection, due to a complaint received from a Hospital in UK the MAH submitted to MHRA a Notification under P3 category to change the colour of pantone in outer box and label of ampoule for this medicinal product in order to avoid confusion with another medicinal product of Altan Pharmaceuticals that is also marketed Levobupivacaine 7.5 mg/ml solution for injection/infusion which has a similar colour.

However, it should be noted that there are still batches of Ropivacaine Altan 7.5 mg/ml solution for injection with the old pantone on the market, that is why healthcare professionals are therefore asked to exercise caution when administering the medicine in order to avoid medication errors.

As soon as the current stock runs out (more or less September 2023) hospitals will receive medicinal product with the new artwork.
