Methocarbamol oral suspension contains the medicine methocarbamol which belongs to a group of medicines called muscle relaxants.
Methocarbamol oral suspension is used for the short-term treatment of pain and muscle spasm caused by injuries such as sprains and strains, within adults.

This medicine is not intended for use in children due to a lack of data.
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken or might take any other medicines. This includes medicines you buy without a prescription, including herbal medicines. This is because Methocarbamol affects the way some other medicines work.
Also some medicines can affect the way methocarbamol works.

Do not drink alcohol while you are taking Methocarbamol oral suspension. Take Methocarbamol oral suspension with a glass of water.
Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant or might become pregnant unless your doctor tells you to.
Contact your doctor if you think you may be pregnant or are intending to become pregnant.
Do not take Methocarbamol oral suspension if you are breast-feeding or planning to breast-feed.
No data are available concerning the effect of this medicine on human fertility.
Methocarbamol oral suspension may make you feel sleepy and may affect your ability to drive, operate machinery and carry out other hazardous activities. These activities should therefore be avoided altogether until you are sure you are not affected.
This medicine contains less than 1 mmol sodium (23 mg) per 5ml, that is to say essentially ‘sodium-free’.
This medicine contains 5mg sodium benzoate (E211) in each ml unit which is equivalent to 200mg total in the maximum daily dose.
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults: Take 1500 mg Methocarbamol four times a day. Sometimes a lower dose may be sufficient. You should spread the doses as evenly as possible over a 24-hour period.
Elderly: older patients may only need half the usual dose to give the same relief from the pain and muscle spasms.
Children: The Methocarbamol oral suspension should not be given to children.
Liver impairment: you may need a longer interval between taking the suspension if you have liver disease.
You should always follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
The Methocarbamol oral suspension is for short-term treatment. Take it for as long as your doctor has recommended, or until you no longer need it to ease the pain. Any unused medicine should be returned to your pharmacist.
Take Methocarbamol oral suspension with a glass of water.
Instructions for use
The oral suspension must be shaken well before use.
1. Wash the syringe with water and let it dry before you use it again/after each dose. Instructions for how to wash the syringe: pull the plunger out of the syringe and wash both parts in warm soapy water. Then rinse with water (see figure 6 above).
2. Dry the two parts. Push the plunger back into the syringe. Keep it in a clean safe place with the medicine.
It is important to stick to your prescribed dose. If you or someone else takes too much medicine, contact your doctor or nearest hospital emergency department immediately. Always take any medicine left over with you and also the bottle of Methocarbamol oral suspension, as this will allow easier identification of the medicine.
If you forget to take a dose, simply take the next dose when it is due. Always leave at least 4 hours before taking any more dose of the methocarbamol oral suspension. DO NOT TAKE A DOUBLE DOSE OF SUSPENSIONTO MAKE UP FOR A MISSED DOSE.
Keep taking methocarbamol oral suspension until your doctor tells you to stop.

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Methocarbamol 750mg/5ml oral suspension is a ‘white to off white suspension’.
Methocarbamol 750mg/5ml oral suspension packaged in 180 ml type III Amber glass bottle with PP 28mm white CR closure lined with TE EPE
The package also contains a 10ml oral syringe with markings at 1ml and 0.25 ml intervals, along with an adapter.
